Support Ray Defendorf’s battle against Stage IV Colon Cancer
Donation protected
Our incredible Father, Ray Defendorf, was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer in July. An unexpected hospitalization over 4th of July due to abdominal pain revealed news of a tumor in his transverse colon that rapidly metastasized to lymph nodes and his liver; scans also show mutations in his kidneys.
Immunotherapy was highly recommended to stop the spread of the disease and he began those treatments in August. Just one dose of the drug Keytruda costs a staggering $114,000, with insurance covering the majority but leaving my parents to pay the $2600 per each of the 6 doses he will need. And this is just the beginning of the journey…
Dad will be having scans done Nov. 5th and depending on his bodies reaction to the immunotherapy those treatments could continue further or he may progress to Chemo and eventually surgery.
As many of you know, our father has dedicated his entire life to helping others and being of service through his many vital and irreplaceable roles in our community as Catholic Deacon, Rotary President, Public Relations Director of Corning Hospital and Youth Leader with his Celebrate Life singing group, to name just a few.
It is with humble hearts and sincere gratitude we ask for our communities help to relieve this overwhelming financial burden that is now weighing on our parents’ shoulders.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for any small contribution you can make.
