Please Support Teresa's Cancer Battle

Judy Wilson and Tracie Moon are raising funds for Teresa Doerr and her Cancer Battle. Teresa is a devoted wife to Ron and a dog mom to Daisy. In February 2021 Teresa and Ron made the decision that Teresa's mother, Betty, needed day-to-day assistance so they moved Betty into their own home. For more than 9 months, Teresa lovingly tended to all her mother's needs as both personal caregiver and provider. Amid this caretaking, Teresa began to experience back pain.

Fast forward to December 2021, Teresa was diagnosed with breast cancer and was to meet with a breast cancer doctor the first week of January 2022. However, on December 26, 2021, Teresa woke up and couldn't get out of bed because of severe back pain. The pain was so excruciating, Ron had to call 911 to take Teresa to the hospital. The following day, Doctors ran an MRI, PET scan and took X-rays and shortly after that, Teresa was given the news she never expected. The doctor bluntly told her, "Sorry, you have stage IV breast cancer, and the tumor in the breast has metastasized to the bone. The right rib left scapula, skull, and spine had fractures. They immediately started ten days of radiation to reduce pain. She also has endured intravenous infusions of drugs to coat and strengthen her bones, as well as taking therapy inhibitors. Teresa endured nine months of this therapy along with all the negative side effects it brings to one's body and mind.

By December 2022, MRI and PET scans, unfortunately, revealed cancer had spread to other bones throughout her body. Five more days of radiation and a new treatment therapy Teresa continues to receive which has brought on extreme tiredness, sores in her mouth which now affect her teeth and gums, rashes and bowel issues. As Ron said about Teresa and her condition, "You would not know by looking at Teresa on the outside that her inside is deteriorating".

Teresa attempts to balance her work schedule with countless hours of oncologist appointments, radiation treatments, MRI, PET scans, injections, IV medicine, pain management therapy, and other specialist appointments. Although she gets tired quickly and has numerous side effects from the cancer treatment, she's up every morning to work, because she knows the added income helps with the extensive cost of fighting this battle. Although they have insurance, it only makes a small dent in what she and Ron must pay out of pocket monthly.

Teresa has shown great strength and courage throughout this fight, she knows her cancer is incurable. However, she is beginning to try new options of therapy to try to live a longer quality-filled life with Ron, Family and Friends. Teresa and Ron need assistance to continue the fight.
