Please Support the Fu Family and Their Children

My name is Lin and I am Kandace's sister and best friend. Last year, I had to do one for her husband, Mark Fu, who passed away suddenly in January 2023. We raised so many funds which greatly helped her to navigate life as a single mother of 2 beautiful children, Dylan and Riley.

My heart is absolutely crushed today as I must again notify everyone of Kandace's passing – just as I did a year ago for her husband. She has joined Mark in heaven and they are finally together again where she no longer has to suffer her emotional and physical pain.

For those that didn't know, just months after she lost Mark, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer…meaning it had spread to a lot of her vital organs. She fought so hard to live for her kids all while being a super single mom as well as a freshly grieving widow. She hadn’t even turned 40 yet. I have never seen so much suffering in my life…she grimaced through the pain and could barely get out of bed. However, she kicked ass in the first rounds of treatment and was soon back on her feet and making all sorts of plans like she wasn’t fighting this deadly disease. I was ecstatic and hopeful that she would live longer and beat the odds. All through this, she didn’t complain and was determined to get through this so that her kids wouldn’t be left without their dad and now, mom.

Then just in a matter of 2 weeks ago, things changed, and her pain started coming back. Through scans we discovered the devastating news that the treatment had stopped working and the tumors were now spreading faster than ever. Still, she was determined and hopeful that the new treatment would work. She was still able to walk through the pain and never told us how much she was truly suffering so that she could create a happy environment for Dylan and Riley.

Last week, she was admitted to the hospital as her pain was now unbearable. We then learned she had end stage liver failure and was on her last days to weeks. She was moved home, where she died peacefully with her mother, children and closest friends and family.

Dylan and Riley are now left without their loving parents. They have many people who love them and will ensure they live a happy life feeling loved by us. Please contribute what you can which will be used towards Kandace’s medical expenses, arrangements and most importantly, the future for Dylan and Riley.
