On the evening of Saturday, August 19, Carlos Jesus Guzman, age 19 and Jose Antonio Guzman, age 16, tragically lost their lives as a result of gun violence outside of their home. Carlos and Jose were the sons of Carlos and Azucena Guzman and younger brothers to Anette and Andrea Guzman.

Carlos was born on January 3, 2004 and graduated from Glenbrook South High School in 2022.

Carlos worked at UPS and loved playing soccer. He always had a sense of humor and was understanding and caring to his family and friends.

Jose was born on April 17, 2007 and was excited to start his Junior year of high school next week at Glenbrook South. He loved to play soccer and wanted to play professionally. He also loved to draw and was a very talented artist. He was always protective, caring, and loving towards his family and friends, and died shielding his three year old nephew from gun shots.

The family is grieving the loss of their only two sons, and brothers. All donations will be used towards medical, funeral, and burial expenses.

The pain of losing both sons and two siblings is insurmountable.

En la noche del sábado 19 de agosto, Carlos Jesús Guzmán, de 19 años y José Antonio Guzmán, de 16 años, perdieron trágicamente la vida como resultado de la violencia armada fuera de su casa. Carlos y José eran hijos de Carlos y Azucena Guzmán y hermanos menores de Anette y Andrea Guzmán.

Carlos nació el 3 de enero de 2004 y se graduó de Glenbrook South High School en 2022.

Carlos trabajaba en UPS y le encantaba jugar fútbol. Siempre tuvo sentido del humor y fue comprensivo y cariñoso con su familia y amigos.

José nació el 17 de abril de 2007 y estaba emocionado de comenzar su tercer año de secundaria la próxima semana en Glenbrook South. Le encantaba jugar fútbol y quería jugar profesionalmente. También le encantaba dibujar y era un artista muy talentoso. Siempre fue protector, amoroso y cariñoso con su familia y amigos, y murió protegiendo a su sobrino de tres años de los disparos.

La familia está de duelo por la pérdida de sus dos únicos hijos y hermanos. Todas las donaciones se utilizarán para gastos médicos, funerarios y de entierro.

El dolor de perder a ambos hijos y dos hermanos es insuperable.
