On December 19th, Emily was faced with the very real possibility of losing her husband. It was shortly after Chance was rushed to the hospital that he was found to have a splenic artery aneurysm rupture. He was taken directly to the OR for the first of three open abdominal surgeries. He lost 4x his blood volume, requiring more than fifty-eight blood products. He spent 2 weeks in the surgical ICU. He was intubated, undergoing continual dialysis and multiple other interventions due to the hemorrhagic shock. On Christmas Day, by the grace of God, Chance was removed from the ventilator. Every day, Chance continues to make great strides, but he still has a very long road to recovery. As one of Emily’s best friends I am starting this gofundme to try and reach as many people as possible. Emily and Chance are the last to ask for help, but the first to provide a helping hand to others. If you cannot contribute financially, we would greatly appreciate spreading this message for prayers alone. God has moved mountains for this family and has touched the medical team in remarkable ways in order to save Chance’s life.
