Plymouth Mayflower Specials

I'm running the Manchester Marathon on 14th April- my first and if the training is anything to go by my last.

I will be running to raise funds for the Plymouth Mayflower Specials a charity set up by my parents over 10 years ago. It is a club that feels like a family and welcomes anyone to take part in sports aged 15+ with an intellectual disability as a member, no matter their physical ability.

Being involved in sports activities can have significant positive effects on any person’s life.

However, many people with intellectual disabilities have little opportunity to participate in sport, so they miss out on its many benefits, such as health benefits both physical and mental and the opportunity to make friends and widen their social circles.

They provide a safe environment, lots of different sports and social events.

Please help me to raise money for this brilliant and essential organisation.
