PLZ HELP MY FAMILY RESTORE POWER!
Donation protected
My name is Caroline and i am trying to raise enough to pay our electric bill that was disconnected 8/1/23, I was misinformed by a Hennepin county DHS worker that the remainder of my GRH housing grant would be paid on my electric bill since I moved from a single family home to my current apartment in December 2021. This as not the case since getting the bill rerouted back to me as i found out it was being sent to the Case worker for my Grh at St Stephens, my power was disconnected 8/1 and the amount I find out (which I've never heard or seen xcel let someone get so high) this extremely high amount was $1836!!!
I've never seen a bill so high and would have never let it get above even a few hundred. I found out since our disconnection the worker who informed me my unused portion of the GRH grant would go to my electric bill was giving me information that was apart of another program not mine. I've exhausted any resource available trying to apply for assistance and have been denied or turned away due to no funding or not assisting in this area I'm seeking help for. I got 3 children ages 10,13 and 15 and have been seeking anyway to help restore our power. Of the 1836 1376.22 is needed to reconnect please anyone anything will help even if you rather pay the company yourself vs GoFundMe we are hot in this apt and have thrown out all that we had in our deep freezer and fridge. I've been denied emergency assistance and not eligible for energy assistance due to timing of the program is closed I also was turned away from heat share and Mary Jo Copeland and 2 other local churches. I'm at a end of my rope on where to seek any kind of help and here is only thing I can think of other than give up our apartment since eviction will occur if it is not restored by the 7th day from disconnect. I do not have close family since I cut ties with unhealthy relationships and my credit is definitely not a option to go to. Please anything anyone can do to help would be so greatly appreciated.
