Funeral Service Aid for Sheila Lumumba

Hi my name is Eurotrilll, and I am the founder of a queer and trans black indigenous people of color collective in New York City. We also have a satellite collective in Kenya that has informed us that a nonbinary young individual By the name of Sheila Lumumba has been brutalized raped and murdered in their home with their partner by men that knew them and we’re acquainted with them.

Community that supports abuse against its marginalized members is a community that supports abuse. We cannot be one-sided about safety and the LGBTQ community in Kenya deserve safety and human rights. We are all human worthy of decency and respect at the bare minimum.

In Kenya we have to initiate change to the status quo as women and especially queer and trans black women are killed and beaten and raped at an alarming rate.

Lets start by opening our wallets for the family of Sheila that her funeral expenses etc. can be taken care of in a proper way. Queer lives matter . Queer Black Lives Matter and this was an outrage and brutal crime against one of our siblings . Our goal is $2500 which covers the cost of a funeral and casket in kenyan shilling . If we raise more funds we will donate to Nadharia Kenya, a collective of queer women and nonbinary keeping each other safe in Kenya (location undisclosed for their Safety).

We do need the funds asap by 4/24 or 4/25 as the service will be held this weekend and we look to reimburse the family or chosen family that is ensuring a proper send off for Sheila.
