I love music and nature. Since 2005, I run the only music camp called "Bajo/La Jungla " in Bolivia in the Animal Sanctuary "Senda Verde ".
My family and myself help orphaned wild animals rescued from trafficking and I teach the connection between music and nature to new talents. This combination has become a major source of inspiration not only for my music, but also for everybody that knows my activities and me. Overcoming adversity is part of life and with hard work I learned that anything is possible. I'm a cleft lip singer (how many are out there?). I'm a jazz bass player with chronicle wrist tendonitis. I live in a developing country with little resources and still managed to help around 500 animals (including 150 monkeys who enjoy watching me practice) with no help from government or such institutions.
My YouTube channel of free music and bass lessons is one of the most popular in Latin America.
I'm also a songwriter that writes about the environment in hopes of conveying the simple message of sharing the planet to Spanish speaking countries where conservation is not thought as priority in life.
On June 7, I received great news from what is perhaps the most prestigious music school in the world: Berklee College of Music. Not only have I been accepted to the Masters of Music in Contemporary Performance, I have also been offered a 30,000-dollar scholarship to pay for tuition.
For the next couple of weeks, I need to come up with the other 16,000 to cover the tuition and ‘gofundme’ seems to be a great resource. I know it's a lot of money, but I simply cannot make that kind of money, making music in Bolivia. Getting close to the goal will help me greatly to achieve this dream. Once I complete the Masters from such a prestigious school, many doors will open for my music career as an artist and educator, and I will continue to pursue the education of conservation through music.
