Pole Green for Brenda
Donation protected
Last September, I met Brenda at Pole Green Produce in Mechanicsville, VA. Brenda started a conversation with me, we exchanged phone numbers and believed the Lord put us together for a reason. In February, we went to hear Bob Goff, author of (Love)" Everybody, Always" at Altria Theater. A special bond strengthened. I just found out, Brenda has an aggressive growth, malignant brain tumor which is inoperable. Brenda is raising her 17 year old grandson, Jayson. Pole Green Produce has been Brenda's "happy place" for over 20 years. Everytime she went, she felt she was buying the best- wholesome, healthy produce, home-made deserts, butters. She bought the flags, loved the plants, and always someone started a conversation which made her visit complete. In fact, Brenda's neighbor, who works at Memorial Regional Hospital, shared how recently a patient was visited by former strangers who became friends thanks to Pole Green Produce.
Brenda is still working but she has extra costs such as paying someone to take her to chemo and radiation 2-3 days/ week. She is having balance issues and is adding grab bars and home improvements to make her home safe from falls. Second opinions for treatment add to expenses.
I believe Pole Green Produce is a "thin place"( a Scottish tradition) where the separation of heaven and earth are "thin." A very special place where people are put in our lives and where we now shop to celebrate the Thanksgiving Feast- a time to taste and see that the Lord is good.
Please include Brenda L. and Jayson in your prayers and pray for a miracle- that the tumor will shrink, disappear and that Jayson and Brenda have a peace and strength that passes understanding.
Please also consider giving to Pole Green for Brenda's GoFundMe as she has given us such a reminder of what a "happy place" looks like.
