Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I am Jonathan Smith Jr, a 21 year old from Newark, NJ seeking help with finances to become a Police Officer. I graduated from a rigorous high school, North Star Academy College Preparatory High, with a 3.7 GPA. I attended Syracuse University, but always found my heart was to make a change as a Police Officer. Living in Newark, I lost both my father and uncle to gun violence which has driven me to become a Police Officer. I have been given the opportunity for an expedited process to join the Police force, due to lack of officers in Newark. However, the costs of the Police Academy is much more than I expected. The financial costs include books, uniforms, medical examinations, as well as training. Any donation will be appreciated as I am expected to start the academy in January of 2023.
