Police Officer injured during the line of duty

Justin Holt, a 34 year old police officer for Silsbee, TX was making a routine call out on January 26th, 2019 when he was attacked by the very person he was called out to investigate. 3 kind hearted bystanders stepped in without hesitation to aid the officer. Even with the heroic actions of these men, Justin Holt was severely injured... After numerous doctor visits and tests, it was confirmed that his knee had only one ligament connected.  After this, an extensive surgery was performed...He is now looking at up to nine months recovery and to make matters worse, workers comp only pays 70% of his salary and th City of Silsbee no longer will compensate him for the remaining 30% of his normal salary. The timing of this is very trying as Justin and his family were in the middle of a do-it yourself remodel. Now between loss of physical ability, medical costs, and his wife losing work time to take him to doctor visits, a helping hand is more than needed.  Attached are some recent stories including video of the attack and 3 good samaritans as well as a follow up story about the loss of compensation for this man and his family during this trying time.
