Hello, on Sunday, March 12 @ 8 am in morning Lance Thornton 52 yr old father of 5, with early onset dementia with cognitive decline, The Erie Police Department SWAT team, Pennsylvania State Police Fugitive Taskforce, and US Marshalls used excessive force to break the front door. Lance was so scared as there were 19 police officers at his house, 8 police with tactical gear and machine guns pointed at him or his direction.
Lance told them about his mental condition and that he was scared.

The police entered his home against his wishes (he withdrew consent when they laid to him. The police are caught on the security cameras inside his house laughing at him and calling him names. One officer is caught spitting in his house.

The police destroyed the front door that can not be securely shut or locked. They are caught breaking his Ring Door Bell and security cameras that were recording their illegal actions. They destroyed his daughter's bedroom carpet and guest bedroom with something like paint or tar.

Lance complied and was not disrespectful at all, in fact, he was nice to help them. Upon them disrespecting and making Lance feel even more confused in his mental state that he kept telling them about, all the officers are on camera leaving and not giving their names or badge #. The police intimidated Lance and took advantage of his mental condition that you can see in the video shows he was confused and had trouble putting words together.

Lance no longer works due to his declining cognitive abilities. He has zero income living off saving that need to be stretched out in order for him to enjoy the years left and build memories with his new granddaughter so she can remember him when he was healthy.

Here is the damage:
  • Front Door 36" x80" fiberglass door with two sidelights. - $6,500 replacement estimate
  • Door fixtures, smart lock, and sensor to his security system - $600
  • Installation by Coveralls Construction in Erie is estimated to be $3,000+ due to the need to pull the front porch off and replace the tile in the entryway. Coveralls is giving an estimate because they are not sure how much work they will need to do that they cant see yet.
  • Tile the entryway - $2,200
  • ARLO Doorbell camera - $125
  • ARLO HD security camera - $199
  • Replace carpet in two bedrooms - $2,500
His house is already under construction fixing the family room and the kitchen. He is preparing to sell it this summer to help raise funds so he can spend the rest of his time visiting his children and helping them follow their dreams. He cant afford these cost.

He can not secure his home and the police have not responded to his many requests for help in fixing the door to secure his home until they conduct their investigation

Any help you can provide to Lance would be much appreciated. These funds will go directly into his bank account and no one but him will be able to use them. So you are helping him directly.

Any funds left over Lance pledges to use to help with Dementia and Alzheimer's research associations and causes.

Lance can be reached for words of support. He loves to talk. :-)
THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF HIS FAMILY AND HIM.
