Pono Cocoa - Erasing Child Labor

We need a Non-Government-Organization to erase child labor from the chocolate industry. 

To have an Non-Government-Organization, we first need to fund a Non-for-Profit in the USA.

This Gofundme will pay to register both the NFP and the NGO.  

We are a team of ethical chocolatiers in Hawai'i and community leaders in Ghana, Africa, and you.

2.2 million children are forced to work in cocoa farm and endure the "worst forms of child labor", according to the World Labor Organization.  That number is up from 1.3 million in 2011.

It needs to stop now as these kids never get an education and are immersed in poverty and dehumanizing conditions. Here is more on wikipedia. 

Chocolate in Hawai'i is "beyond ethical".  Farmers are paid livable wages and the higher cost of chocolate is passed on to the consumer.  It is less than 1% of the world's chocolate but we are willing to make a difference.  

With our NFP, Pono Cocoa, we will create a label that donates 5% of ethically produced chocolate profits to our NGO. All ethical chocolate makers and farmers will be invited to put the "Pono Cocoa" label on their bars which will increase their sales overall.  

Once paid for and registered, our NGO Pono Cocoa will give money to communities in Ghana to pay for school renovations, class room supplies, shoes and clothes for children and even infrastructure like road repairs.  This will reduce the amount of kids forced into slavery due to inadequate inhumane learning environments and scarcity created by the $0.78/hour wage paid to adult cocoa farmers. 

Through the NFP, Pono Cocoa, the NGO of the same name will inform consumers of this situation as well as solving the conditions for it to continue.  

As the world famous documentarian of "The Dark Side of Chocolate " and "Shady Chocolate " explains, the only real solution is to inform consumers as the Big Chocolate companies have had ZERO successful improvement projects in their own supply chain.

Pono Cocoa is "righteous" cocoa, or "right" cocoa.  In Hawaiian, pono  is a way of life.  Live pono and eat pono chocolate and cocoa.  That way we can uplift the lives of millions.  Pono Cocoa is the right cocoa.

Non-for-Profit Registration = $750

Pono Cocoa Label and Brand Design = $250

Website per year and 1000 business cards = $500

Non-Government-Organization Registration = $750

Website and hosting per year and 1000 business cards = $250
