Poor Villages of Armenia

Donation protected
Hello my name is Dayana Matosyan.
Last year, we collected $1500 for this cause. I know that sounds like nothing for those of us living here in the US, but that is a large sum over there. With that money, I purchased all necessary school supplies for kids ages 4-17. I was also able to buy flour, sugar, pasta, rice, cooking oil, and buckwheat, food that will last each family six months to a year. A wonderful lady but the name of Anna, who works in social services, provided me with a list of the poorest families in my village, Spitak. I wish I could help all of them, but we could only provide for 13 of those families. Visiting these families and being able to help the slightest bit was such a humbling experience, and I want you all to be a part of that movement. These families barely have a place to live, everything in their homes is falling apart, their elderly are ill, and their young adults are unable to go to school and get an education because they have to work to help provide for their family. Some of these families did not even have a bathroom; they would shower their babies in cold winter weather outside with a bucket of water. It was so heartbreaking to see them struggle, but it made me realize how much we have and how much more we can do to help, even with just 5 or 10 dollars. I urge you, especially my beloved Armenian community, to make donations, because every little bit counts. I hope we can raise much more this time around and look forward to sharing my next journey there with you.
Thank you.
