Sheffield University Singers' Society is in its 27th year and has over 100 members each year from students, staff and local Sheffield people.

Each year, as well as putting on concerts featuring our four choirs, we raise money for charity with our Pub Carolling events: 30 or 40 of us crowd into pubs across Sheffield and sing Christmas carols and songs for the punters on their pre-Christmas nights out. In 2023 we raised over £600 for our two charities: Sheffield Music Hub and Roundabout .

We're always asked for some of the classic Christmas pop tunes, but our trusty old Carols for Choirs books are just full of traditional Christmas carols with not a jingle bell or Santa Claus in sight.

In just 5 hours we were successful in raising £300 to buy a set of 30 of this fab new book Pop Carol Singing so we can add to our repertoire such classics as All I Want For Christmas Is You, Jingle Bell Rock and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day. And the money keeps rolling in so we're adjusting our target to allow us to buy a full set of books for our entire society so we can even include these songs in our Christmas concerts.
