Popeye Made it Home - Needs Surgery
Donation protected
Jill Morrison's dog POPEYE an 8 year old rescue went missing in June 2, 2018 - bolting away in a city far from where he lived. He survived for 23 days, was possibly hit by a car, running along rivers and in neighborhoods - eluding everyone due to fear and survival mode.
Jill did everything she could do to find him, contacting and working with animal agencies, door to door, posters, using social media and searching day and night with few sightings.
Today was Popeye's lucky day - he was chasing a mouse and squeezed through a homeowners fence; thankfully the homeowner had seen the posts and contacted the owner! THE positive POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA and people who care is REAL!
Popeye is a survivor! He has a broken femur, likely caused from being hit by a car, he dragged his lifeless leg so much it has severe road burns.
When Popeye is strong enough and he WILL BE, his back leg will have to be amputated. It will take a day to cut all the burrs and mats out of his coat and 2 weeks to build his strength for the amputation but he is alive and home!
Popeye's owner is forever grateful for everyone who helped her, moral support, posters, door to door, suggestions, searching etc; without everyone's encouragement and love, Popeye would not be alive and home!
