Help towards our poorly poppy's vet bills and meds

Donation protected
Hi, Paige and Cheryl here were the owners to our beautiful 11 year old girl Poppy.

Poppy loves walks, cuddles and car rides and is one of the most wonderful caring dogs we have ever had, she knows when your sad and always runs over to give kisses and make you feel better.

Poppy has been the light of our lives ever since we got her back in 2012 and every day spent with her is a happy one, Poppy has a little chihuahua sister named Bella who loves her so much and they do everything together.

A few months ago we noticed strange behavior starting to present from our little Poppy, she wasn't acting herself and it was starting to become a concern, she began becoming lethargic at home, pacing round the house and demonstrating mannerisms we had never seen from her before.

We took her to the vets and the vet said it could be down to arthritis and put her on pain medicine for her legs and also suggested the behavior could be down to dog dementia.

Poppy still loved her walks and her food so we carried on the way we were but over the past week or so poppy started getting worse again and urinating in the house and in the bed at night, we took her straight back to the vets, upon more investigation we discovered Poppy had a UTI, Mouth infection and was very highly dehydrated.

She was on a drip for two separate days in the vets getting fluids back into her body, put on antibiotics and another set of painkiller and we were told to syringe her water as much as we could. it still doesn't explain Poppy's strange behavior such as standing over her water bowl and not drinking properly, her back legs don't have a strong pulse the vet mentioned and her pacing around the house is a massive concern.

she's had two sets of blood tests, a x-ray and an ultrasound all which came back clear, the vets did every test they could give us but the vet said after discussing poppy's condition with the other team members its very unusual and he believes it could be something more sinister a Neurological issue which they can't deal with there.

we have been referred to Liverpool Small Animal Teaching Hospital where she will be having a consultation with some of the best people in the country who will advise what to do next and give her a full body MRI and whatever she needs. They think it could be something on the brain or spine.

her vet bills already have come to a very large amount (more than we can afford) and this is without our visit to the pet hospital. We have insurance but it only covers a small amount and we are so so scared we won't be able to afford all the treatment to get understanding of what is happening to our baby.

a consultation alone is £350 and we were quoted £1500-2000 just for the MRI, We are never the type of people to ask for help like this but we are afraid if we don't we won't be able to afford to save our baby.

please if anyone can donate anything big or small to help the most special little girl we would be so thankful and will update you all the way with her diagnosis and treatment

thank you so much,
Cheryl and Paige xx
