Poppy’s Heart and Medical Care
Donation protected
Poppy Suzette Hunt is our daughter who will be born with a congenital heart defect called Ebstein’s Anomaly. It is extremely rare and only makes up 1% of CHD diagnoses. Here is a little bit of information on it but feel free to do any research as well:
There is a great team of doctors, cardiologists, nurses and a midwife between Blacksburg, Roanoke and UVA so we feel confident in her leading a successful life. During this pregnancy there has been and will continue to be many appointments, and as you can imagine it adds up between missing work and paying what insurance doesn’t cover. Whitney will be delivering at UVA so she doesn’t have to be separated from Poppy, and it’s unknown at this time how long Poppy will have to stay there. Jordan will be taking the time off of work unpaid when she’s born to be with Whitney and Poppy, and to be there for them in recovery afterwards. The plan now is to get as close to 39/40 weeks as we can so Poppy is a healthy weight to operate on. Right now we are 29 weeks. We meet with UVA on the 21st of February to meet the cardiothoracic team and have another echocardiogram and ultrasound and will have more information to share at that point.
Please don’t feel obligated to donate anything at all, but even sharing this will help people be aware of her condition and that’s what matters. Any donations will be used for time that need to be taken off of work, what insurance isn’t covering, and travel expenses.
Here is Poppy ♥️
