Help the POP Warriors First Lego League (FLL) Robotics Team compete at the Estonian Open International in Tallinn, Estonia!
Prince of Peace Christian School 6th Grade students Connor, Noah, Katie, and Spencer have worked hard to earn one of 103 spots available to compete at the FLL Estonian Open International June 6-8, 2018
435 teams from North Texas and a total of 35,200 teams worldwide competed in First Lego League competitions. Of those, only 103 teams representing 80 countries earned invitations to the Estonian Open.
POP Warriors earned their invitation to the competition by earning the Strategy and Innovation Award at the February 3rd North Texas Regional Championship at Parish Episcopal School in Dallas. POP Warriors is one of only five teams from the United States and the only team from Texas to be invited to the Estonian Open.
In addition to designing and building a Lego robot that can execute sixteen of the eighteen robot challenges, POP Warriors was also charged with solving a complex community issue related to water in the Hydrodynamics Challenge . POP Warriors chose to base their project on helping refugees in Bangladesh obtain a continual source of clean water. At the competition, POP Warriors will present their H2Ouse, a combination water collection system and shelter that can be used by refugees in Bangladesh, or any tropical region.
While attending the FLL Estonian Open International Competition is a great honor, it comes with a BIG price tag. Airfare, hotels, competition materials, and event fees have reached about $15,000. Donations of any amount will go a long way in helping the POP Warriors reach Estonia. By helping the POP Warriors FLL Robotics Team on their journey to Estonia, you are supporting scholastic STEM programs and academic competitions.
Thank you for your support.
