Pop Wuj COVID-19 Emergency Relief

Pop Wuj
As you may know, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect communities around the world, and the Pop Wuj community has not fallen short of that.
As a Guatemalan nonprofit organization, we offer various spanish courses for people around the world to share an immersive linguistic and cultural experience in a “home away from home”. With these proceeds, we provide free health services to local Xela community members.
However, our main source of funding from the study abroad immersion program has effectively come to a halt due to COVID-19. With low financial support, our medical clinic has been closed for the past two months during a time that requires healthcare the most.
With your donation, we can reopen the local free medical clinic and provide healthcare to the rural underserved community members.
Pop Wuj Medical Clinic
Our clinic serves roughly 5,000 patients on an annual basis and although there are several medical clinics around town, all remain closed due to COVID-19.
Our priority is to keep the clinic doors open.
For $9,000, we will be able to keep the clinic running for 3 months; this includes medicine, medical staff, rent and other essentials.
With your help, we will be able to continue to support our many community members during this critical time.
Please share this GoFundMe with your friends and family. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us through email or WhatsApp (+1-405-689-0942).
Thank you always for your continuing support!
Wish you all the best,
Oscar, Ana María, Fredy, Staff & Volunteers
Note, Mohammed Siddiqui will act as our beneficiary for this campaign and help us process and bank transfer the funds to the Pop Wuj community in Guatemala. Mohammed Siddiqui is an abroad ambassador for Pop Wuj.
