Por la salud de Ana Josefina Cotua Salazar

English/ EspaÑol
I'm Luisa and I am Ana Josefina Cotua Salazar's daughter. My intention is to help my mother with the management of a  campaign to raise funds to pay for her cancer treatment.

In November 2019, Ana Josefina Cotúa Salazar went to the gastroenterologist due to diffuse abdominal discomfort. The Doctor performed a colonoscopy to take a sample for a biopsy. The results arose from malignant cells  (colorectal cancer). She was referred to an oncologist to start treatment with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Thereafter, she has been struggling to improve her health. Nevertheless, cancer has spread to her lungs, hipbone, and spleen. At Present, she presents difficulties to breathe due to lung lesions and she requires oxygen, Also, new radiation therapy sessions have been indicated. To this is added the generalized situation by the Covid-19 that hinders the pertinent proceedings.

Ana Josefina lives in Venezuela, her native country, and is almost 82 years old, 58 of which she has worked as a high school teacher and as a university professor. She is a Lawyer and she has a Bachelor's degree and a master's in History. In 2018, reaching her 80 years of age, she retired from the University of Carabobo after 45 years of teaching at that institution. It is incredible that after working for so many years she can't pay for her medical expenses. The general situation in Venezuela and the loss of the purchasing power of the Venezuelans, especially university professors, make it difficult to face an illness. Attempts have been made to carry out all treatments with the help of loans, sales, and private resources, but at this time it is impossible to cover medical expenses.

For this reason, the creation of the campaign "For Ana's Health" was launched. Help us with your contribution, please! Any help is welcome, any collaboration is important, as well as the dissemination of the campaign.
Thank you very much. Luisa Cotua, daughter.

Muchas gracias. Luisa Picón, hija.
