Por um mundo com mais natureza selvagem

Olá! Eu sou o Fábio Inácio e vou fazer uma caminhada de 8.600 quilómetros. Em 8 meses, vou percorrer um trilho por continente, passando assim pelos 5 continentes do mundo. O que me leva a fazer isto é a minha vontade de superação física, mas, principalmente, psicológica, assim como o meu amor pela natureza selvagem.

Desta forma, decidi criar este GoFundMe para a Rewinding Portugal, uma organização privada sem fins lucrativos que está a fazer um trabalho maravilhoso no Grande Vale do Côa, reintroduzindo espécies nativas na região e com o objetivo de tornar Portugal um país mais bonito e saudável.

Os 8.600€ simbolizam os quilómetros que vou caminhar. Em 2019, caminhei 4.300 quilómetros por um trilho nos Estados Unidos chamado Pacific Crest Trail, que liga a fronteira do Canadá ao México. Desta vez, decidi caminhar o dobro. Para conseguir alcançar esse valor, preciso da ajuda de todas as pessoas que gostam de caminhar e da natureza. Desafio cada um a fazer uma caminhada na natureza e a doar pelo menos 1€ para esta causa. Partilhem nas redes sociais e desafiem os vossos amigos a fazer o mesmo.

Quem é a Rewilding Portugal?

A Rewilding Portugal é uma organização privada sem fins lucrativos, estabelecida em janeiro de 2019 na Guarda, cuja missão é promover a conservação da natureza por meio de medidas de rewilding em Portugal.

Atualmente trabalhamos nas áreas do Riba-Côa e Beira Alta no norte de Portugal, uma região onde as elevadas taxas de abandono rural criaram oportunidades para trazer a natureza de volta.

A região do Grande Vale do Côa é um importante corredor de vida selvagem para muitas espécies da região e o reforço desse corredor poderá desempenhar um papel importante na recuperação de espécies raras, como a cegonha-preta e o lobo ibérico.

A Rewilding Portugal é o principal parceiro da Rewilding Europe na área de rewilding do Grande Vale do Côa e está a trabalhar em estreita colaboração com a Rewilding Europe para alcançar o objectivo comum de tornar Portugal um lugar mais selvagem.

Hey! My name is Fábio Inácio, and I am going to embark on an 8,600-kilometer walk. Over the course of 8 months, I will be thru-hiking a trail across each continent, thus covering all 5 continents of the world. My motivation for this journey is my desire for physical and, especially, psychological self-improvement, as well as my love for the wild nature.

To support this endeavor, I have decided to create a GoFundMe for Rewinding Portugal, a private non-profit organization doing wonderful work in the Grande Vale do Côa by reintroducing native species to the area and aiming to make Portugal a more beautiful and healthy country.

The €8,600 symbolizes the kilometers I will be walking. In 2019, I thru-hiked 4,300 kilometers on a trail in the United States called the Pacific Crest Trail, which connects the Canadian and Mexican borders. This time, I decided to walk double that distance. To reach this goal, I need the help of everyone who loves hiking and nature. Who is Rewinding Portugal?

Rewilding Portugal is a private non-profit organization, established in January 2019 in Guarda.

Its mission is to promote nature conservation through rewilding measures in Portugal.

We are currently working in the areas of Riba-Côa and Beira Alta in northern Portugal, a region where high rates of land abandonment have created opportunities for bringing nature back.

The Greater Côa Valley region is an important wildlife corridor for many species in the region and reinforcing that corridor could play an important role in the recovery of rare species such as the black stork and Iberian wolf.

Rewilding Portugal is the main partner of Rewilding Europe in the Greater Côa Valley rewilding area and is working closely with Rewilding Europe to achieve the shared goal of making Portugal a wilder place.
