Portable HEPA Air Filters: Broomfield High School

In an effort to help reduce exposure to COVID at Broomfield High School, a group of parents are raising money to purchase portable HEPA air filters for classrooms.  By adding another layer of mitigation,  students and staff will be that much safer for when they return to in person learning.  We are hopeful this will happen in Jan. 2021, and for more than just one day per week.   As a result, we would like to have these purchased and on school grounds before Winter break.   

It is becoming quite clear that portable air filters (HEPA grade) can help further clean the air.  They provide more protection from potentially harmful aerosols, especially during cooler periods when outdoor air ventilation rates may need to be reduced due to the colder weather.  Every BVSD school received two portable HEPA filters - one for the nurses room and another for the isolation room.  The portable HEPA air filters bought through this fundraiser will be for classrooms.

Below are two models of portable HEPA air filters we are planning on purchasing.  These models were suggested by  Molly McLoughlin: BVSD Director of Facilities.  We are planning on purchasing the unit and extra filters.
