Portable radios for Ukraine
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Paul and I am a broadcast engineer in the US. I am sending portable radios to people living in rural Ukraine so that they can stay informed while the power is out. This is becoming a vital tool to help particularly older people, who stayed behind in their home villages to find vital resources like food, clean water, warming centers, medical assistance or just keep up with the news.
I have sent off the first batch of thirty radios, each with six AA batteries (three sets per radio). Unit cost is about $12 plus shipping. I am asking for $10,000 which should purchase about 740-770 radios and ship them to Poland where they will be driven across the border and distributed with weekly food aid and other supplies. It is a very small thing, however, access to information can make a huge difference for those living in what is essentially a war zone.
