Porter County Project Kids, Project #1
Donation protected
Porter County Project Kids is an ongoing joint project to bring a commitment for kids into the community to support the physical, emotional, and mental health of children, teachers, and caregivers in Porter County. Membership includes a wide cross-section of our society. We bring together individuals and groups who would like to do something positive for our kids. We worry about child development right now. Our children are seeing too much adversity, anger, and disrespect. On top of that, there is the impact of a pandemic. We need to be better role models. They need this. We will contribute in many ways, funding projects, volunteers to help kid-related charities, creating fun events like giant bubbles in the park with cider and doughnuts…. We are a respite from the current mood of anger and division. We strive to re-connect our neighbors in Porter County.
The project we are seeking funding for is Project #1, Sensory Walks for the schools. A sensory path is a great way for kids to develop motor skills like balance, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness. Sensory Pathways support fine and gross motor skills, help with problem-solving and social interaction. Sensory paths can help children in a calming or frustrating or anxious state. Sensory paths are being used throughout schools, daycares & hospitals to help kids when they need a break or when they need to let out their wiggles.
We have had the Sensory Path options, we are offering schools in Porter County, reviewed by professional Occupation and Physical therapists to ensure optimal benefits. We also have therapists available to assist schools in customizing paths. They are available for all surfaces including carpeted and outdoor spaces.
Please join us by contributing to this project for our kids. They need us, and we all need this too.
