Portland Buddhist Priory Meditation Hall

When we moved to this location in 1990, we recognized a need for a larger meditation hall. After considering various options over the years, in 2018 we developed a plan that would assist our present  group, and serve future practitioners, and we began to raise funds for our project. In the fall of 2021, we received a substantial offering that put us within the target range of our initial fund-raising goal and we began to search for an architect and builder. We have now settled on a builder and received the donation of services from a local architect. In the process of this search, we have also discovered that, with the change wrought on our economy by the covid-19 pandemic, the likely cost of our project has risen substantially.

 

It has long been the view of Buddhists that, to support the building and maintenance of temples, creates merit for both the giver and the receiver and it is our hope that you will make an offering in support of our project. Even a small offering can bring great benefit!
