Portlanders, Unite For the Abe Family's Healing

Donation protected
On July 2nd, Dr. Ryuichiro Abe, his wife, and his five-year old daughter were enjoying the Eastbank Esplanade while visiting Portland. A man began shouting anti-Japanese slurs and then physically assaulted them, hitting Dr. Abe repeatedly and also his daughter. What should have been a fun vacation with happy memories of Portland became a horrible nightmare. Aside from the physical injury, the Abe Family must now start the difficult process of healing from their mental and emotional trauma.
Please stand up and show the Abe Family the true spirit of Portland – one of kindness and generosity. They need our support and help as they start to recover, and they need to know that our city is there for them in this moment.
The family plans to use the money for medical expenses, mental health care for their daughter, and travel expenses to go to Japan to be with family.
This fundraiser is organized by members of the AANHPI community in Portland in concert with the Abe Family, and 100% of the proceeds will go to them.
