HER STORY HONORED IN ART

My name is Jan-Michelle Sawyer. I am a commemorative portrait sculptor whose numerous public sculptures merge art with education.

The educational component of this fund raiser is to inform and educate people as to the deeds of women whose accomplishments were largely ignored. Portrait sculptures of notable women tell stories of success and empowerment. It also teaches and inspires present and future generations, especially young girls, of the contributions women made in our American history.

This fund raiser has two-functions:
1. To pay for the bronze casting of my clay portrait of Suffragist, Ellen Clark Sargent and ...

2. To raise awareness regarding how women have been under represented in public commemorative sculptures.

 

 Sculptor, Jan-Michelle Sawyer is a retired university professor and a professional sculptor whose numerous public sculptures merge art with education. She has focused many of her sculptures on historical figures and she is dedicated to honoring individuals who have inspiring stories that have touched people’s lives.
