Post Mills Beautification
Donation protected
Hatch's General Store is gone; the cleared site awaits landscaping from EC Brown Nursery of Thetford Center.
The high point of the project was meeting many Post Mills residents who offered up a litany of tales about the village and the store and, of course, the people who lived, worked, and died in Post Mills. I got to reconnect with an old childhood friend and classmate whose great uncle was R. H. Hatch himself.
If anyone is still inclined to support the project, this GoFundMe will stay active for another month. It has been gratifying to gain support from nearly 90 people.
As before, a contribution of any amount would be gratefully accepted.
For those who don't know the Freemans, John grew up in Norwich (his old house is now the Post Office!), worked at Dan & Whit’s, and graduated from UVM. Jeanette, a native Californian and Post Mills Summer resident for more than 20 years, loves family time in Vermont. The Freemans (with two now-grown children) have owned a house on Lake Fairlee for the past two decades.
