Post Neck Surgery Financial Help Jorge Rodriguez

My name is Jorge Alejandro Rodíguez Berdugo. I am from Cali, Colombia, I am 24 years old and I am graduating on December 16 of this year with my Bachelors in Fitness and Health promotion. I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, which for me is my whole life. I played until I was 15 years old in the minor divisions of América de Cali, a professional team and several time champion in my country. Then I tried to play in Austria, but I couldn't due to paper problems. Finally, I understood that the best thing was to come to this beautiful country to play soccer and study with a sports scholarship and thank God, I made it. I had attended different universities, prior to Colorado Mesa University, always searching for a better sporting scholarship, since my family has always had difficulty with money. The Colombian peso is very little compared to dollars, which has been a huge struggle for my family when trying to support me in my soccer. When I arrived at Colorado Mesa University, the campus I fell in love with and the one that offered me many opportunities, I came across some amazing friends that have been there for me since the first day, including teammates, as well as my coaches that I value a lot. I always played leaving my heart on the field, but due to an unfortunate occurrence in my last game of this soccer season (2022) I had an accident in the 70th minute. I fell backwards and injured my cervical spine. I was paralyzed for 10 minutes without being able to move my arms and body. The ambulance was involved and I was taken from the field to the hospital. They did many tests and informed me that I had spinal stenosis, which is a congenital problem and I would run the risk of being paralyzed for the rest of my life if was to fall, get pushed or hit. Understanding this devastating information thanks to, Dr. Peter I made the decision to undergo surgery. I appreciate Dr. Peter´s very much for his attention, professionalism, and kindness. I thank God for, the surgery was successful. The attention at the community hospital was excellent, and the care of Brandon, Jordan, and Jaz was extremely caring, so, with a good recovery so far, I am hoping to be back to play the most beautiful sport in the world (soccer) in 4 months. I am asking for this help because I have a visa called OPT which lasts 1 year, and if I don't find a job between December and February, I have to leave the country. This country has opened up so many doors for my future, that I will forever be grateful for. In order to continue to improve my future I believe it is important for me to stay in America. I am not going to have any income for 2 months, considering my recovery requires plenty of rest, I will need to pay my rent, my food, a pending payment for the ambulance, a debt that I will owe to the school and a personal training certification course that I am taking while recovering. This help that I am asking for is from the bottom of my heart since my dream is to play professional soccer and I want to recover well, but I need this financial support to in order to get by these few months without income. Mi nombre es Jorge Alejandro Rodríguez Berdugo. Soy de Cali, Colombia, tengo 24 años y me gradúo el 16 de diciembre de este año en fitness and health promotion. Juego futbol desde los 4 años de edad, que para mí es mi vida entera. Jugué hasta los 15 años en las divisiones menores de América de Cali, equipo profesional y varias veces campeón en mi país. Luego traté de jugar en Austria, pero no pude por problemas de papeles. Finalmente, entendí que lo mejor era venir a este precioso país a jugar futbol y estudiar con una beca deportiva y gracias a Dios lo logré. Estuve en diferentes universidades, siempre tratando de encontrar mejor beca deportiva ya que mi familia no es de mucho dinero y el peso colombiano es muy poco comparado con los dólares. Cuando llegué a Colorado Mesa University (CMU), la universidad que me encantó y que me ofreció muchas facilidades, encontré a las mejores personas y amigos de equipo que valoro mucho y siempre jugué dejando mi corazón en la cancha, pero por cosas de la vida en mi último partido de esta temporada (2022) tuve un accidente en el minuto 70, me caí hacia atrás y me lesioné mi columna cervical, estuve paralizado por 10 minutos sin poder mover mis brazos y mi cuerpo, la ambulancia entró al campo de juego y me llevó al hospital, me hicieron muchos exámenes y se dieron cuenta que tenía spinal stenosis que es un problema congénito y corro peligro de quedar paralizado si me caigo, me empujan, me golpean, etc., por lo que entendiendo muy bien lo que me explicó el Dr. Peter Shorten, de quien estoy muy agradecido por su atención y calidez, tomé la decisión de operarme. Gracias a Dios, la cirugía salió exitosa, la atención en el community hospital fue excelente, y la atención y cuidado de Brandon, Jordan y Jaz sumamente clida, por lo que con una buena recuperación volveré a jugar el deporte más lindo del mundo (futbol) en 4 meses. Estoy pidiendo esta ayuda porque tengo una visa que se llama OPT la cual dura 1 año, y si no encuentro trabajo entre diciembre y febrero me tengo que ir del país que me abrió las puertas y del que por siempre estoy agradecido, ya que no voy a tener ningún tipo de ingreso por 2 meses, y tengo que pagar renta, comida, un pago pendiente con la ambulancia, una deuda que tengo en la escuela y un curso de personal training certification . Esta ayuda que pido es de corazón ya que mi sueño es jugar futbol profesional y quiero recuperarme muy bien, pero necesito este pequeño soporte financiero para poder vivir sin afugias estos dos meses que estaré sin trabajo.
