Powder Mill Snowmobile Club - Urgent Trail Reroute

POWDER MILL SNOWMOBILE CLUB
After this crazy year, we imagine everyone is ready for this snowmobile season to get started. The two groomers have been in the shop, serviced and are all “fueled up” waiting for the first flakes of snow to cover our 90+ miles of trails from Devils Den south to New Durham, Farmington and finally Spaulding High School in Rochester.
Our trails had a serious overhaul this year. Crews have been busy this summer widening trails, bulldozing rocks, smoothing out areas and rerouting a few areas to provide our members and guests the best possible rides this winter.
Two new bridges were built this past October, culverts added to some of the wetter areas and new signage has been posted along the trails. It has been non-stop and exhausting work. The progress made this summer will lead to some great riding this year and for many years to come.
But now we need your help…
We were recently informed of a “POTENTIAL BREAK” along one of the most popular and important trails in our club’s trail system. NH TRAIL 352 (formerly trail 351) that connects to Spaulding High School north along Route 11 to Johnson’s Restaurant has been compromised. We will no longer be able to park at the HS and ride north to access the rest of our trails. Fortunately, our Southern District Trail Master Carl Peaslee and Ron Arsenault with NH Fish and Game spent a weekend studying maps, walking the trails and knocking on landowner doors to find an alternate route to keep this popular trail open and connected to the rest of our trails.
Through the generosity of a new landowner, we have a way to reconnect NH TRAIL 352 to our system. However, Powder Mill Snowmobile Club will need to hire an excavator to clear the new ½ mile long trail. The unexpected costs for labor, materials, fuel and machinery will put us well over our annual trail maintenance budget.
So this is where you can help out the club…
We know people are busy and may not be able to volunteer their time out on the trails this year. By making a donation to our Go Fund Me page, you can still contribute to the club and help us reconnect NH TRAIL 352 from Rochester up to New Durham.
This will impact hundreds of riders who depend on this trail to access the rest of our trails system for many years to come.
Help us spread the word! Please share on social media and via email with your friends and fellow riders. gofundme.com/f/powdermillsnowmobileclubtrailreroute
After we reach our goal, please join us this winter and explore the new trail reroute that you helped fund.
Thank you for your support! We would not be able to complete this project without you!
