Powering Hope: Restore Generators on Market Buses

We are reaching out to you today with an urgent plea for help. Our non-profit organization, Ripe for Revival, is on a mission to bridge the gap between farm excess and food access, ensuring that families and communities have dignified access to fresh, affordable, local food regardless of their budget. Our Pay What You Can Mobile Market Program has been a beacon of hope for many, but recently we encountered a setback that threatens our ability to serve those in need.

The Situation:

We had a major setback when heartless thieves stole the generators from our Mobile Market buses. These generators are the lifeblood of our operations, powering the refrigeration, freezer, cooking equipment, and other essential components that allow us to bring fresh, healthy food to underserved communities. Without these generators, our capacity to serve has been severely restricted and we are unable to meet the needs of our community members and host site routes that we have worked hard to establish over the past two years.

The Impact:

Each generator allows us to operate at full capacity, serving multiple families and communities during our mobile market events. With the generators gone, we're left with limited options, relying on coolers to carry perishable products safely and facing significant challenges in transporting the volume of food needed to meet the demand. This means that many families who rely on us for their weekly groceries are now left with fewer options and we are going to face the reality of running out of product at dozens of events each week.

Our Request:

We're reaching out to our compassionate community and supporters to help us restore our mobile market program to its full potential. We need to raise $15,000 to cover the costs of replacing the stolen generators, custom mounts and modifications to secure them, as well as implementing security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

UPDATE: WE HAVE RECEIVED A VERY GENEROUS DONATION OF $10,000 TO COVER THE COST OF OUR GENERATOR REPLACEMENT AND REPAIRS. WE HAVE REDUCED THE CAMPAIGN TO $5,000 TO COVER SOME FENCING AND SURVEILLANCE SECURITY MEASURES THAT PROTECT ASSETS AND WILL PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.

UPDATE 2 - SECURITY SYSTEM AND FENCE QUOTES CAME IN HIGHER THAN PROJECTED SO WE HAVE CHANGED THE TOTAL BACK FROM $5,000 to $10,000.
