Powhatan Sheriff's Office Appreciation

As a member of the military for over 17 years, I have experienced overwhelming support and appreciation for my service. I did not join the military for the accolades or pay. I truly joined to serve. Lately, I feel our brothers and sisters in law enforcement are not receiving the support and appreciation they deserve. I ran across a fellow service member that shared my point of view and he inspired me to do something about it. He has organized local businesses, and individuals to honor and show appreciation to the Richmond PD and the Chesterfield PD. Following his lead, I would like to do the same for my local law enforcement, the Powhatan Sheriff's Department. The plan is to take the funds donated here and put together a thank you gift that will include snacks and gift cards. I will also work with the Sheriff to see if anything is needed else that would to aid the officers in their day to day duties. In addition to the fundraiser, I will be partnering with Dogwood Brewery and other local brewers to donate beer. I can say with certainty that our police officers are not in it for the accolades or pay either and deserve our support and respect. There are a lot of loud voices out there that are not in support of our police. I am just trying to be a louder voice for them. I would appreciate your support and I know they will too.
