PPE to Philly

6/2020 UPDATE: We are so so happy to announce that we have reached our goals multiple times thanks to everybody's hard work and generosity. Our executive director and director of special initiatives have graduated and are moving on to join the front lines with the healthcare heroes we aim to protect. Although we are sad to see them go, we will still continue our operations until we find there is no more need for it. Thus, we are deciding to close this campaign from donations so we can hopefully start fresh with a new group of leaders. Please stay tuned for updates! 

Throughout our country there are shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers who are risking their lives and health to keep us well. We want to tackle this problem for the greater Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware valley areas before we reach a critical level. We are a team of Philadelphia-based healthcare students looking to support the institutions in our area and beyond.

Sponsorship: We are very happy to announce that Freundlich & Littman, Attorneys at Law, is our founding sponsor and have generously forthright donated $2,500. In addition, during our fundraising campaign from April 20th to May 2nd, when F&L matched donations up to an additional $2,500, we raised an incredible total amount of $8,847. We are truly so grateful for everybody's support and generosity, and will put the additional funds to good use. We will continue announcing fundraising campaigns as we expand with new sponsors, and hope that with everybody's help, we can fully support our frontline healthcare heroes.

Our mission: to support our local hospitals, urgent cares, emergency rooms, testing sites, clinics, and healthcare offices
Our goal: to unite the efforts of local businesses and generous sponsors, such as F&L, to provide healthcare institutions with much needed PPE
Our efforts: collect PPE in the form of gloves, goggles, gowns, and face masks, etc. directly from any local businesses or persons who may have storage they are not using. If you are interested in donating PPE or learning more, please see below.

Healthcare professionals are going to work and risking their lives so we can stay safe and healthy. Many places are already reusing PPE or limiting to one per worker per shift. We want to avoid putting our doctors, nurses, techs, physician assistants, and all other hospital workers at more risk by forcing them to use less than ideal protective equipment. These are our faculty and mentors who we’ve learned from or worked with in the past, our family members and parents, our friends and graduated classmates. We are passionate about giving back to the healthcare institutions that have given so much to us and the community, and we hope you will join us in our endeavor. So please, let's unite and do our part.

NOTICE: At this time, we do not support the sale and purchase of PPE for financial gain. Our mission was previously solely focused on reaching farther healthcare facilities AND facilitating the transport of said PPE/other donations from businesses who wish to donate from further away. However, we realize that it is unrealistic to expect to supply this large an area without the purchase of PPE. Thanks to our donors, we were able to gain not only a large supply of PPE but also more funds than we had hoped. We wish to put these funds to good use and serve the healthcare needs of the Philadelphia area. We want to facilitate the PPE donation process as much as possible using monetary donations, without supporting those who aim to financially take advantage of the situation.
