PPE4NYC: Protecting Those at George Floyd Protests
Donation protected
As thousands gather across New York City to protest the death of George Floyd and demand justice, the risk of COVID-19 transmission in these large crowds remains high. Large gatherings remain one of the highest-risk settings for the spread of the virus, as the possibility of airborne droplet transmission increases. In order to keep all New Yorkers safe, personal protective equipment (PPE) must be made available to those participating in protests.
PPE4NYC aims to provide face shields to those that are protesting across New York City in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19. PPE4NYC has been providing PPE for health care and essential workers since March, and seeks to continue keeping New York safe. Each faceshield only costs $1.50 to assemble, sterilize, and distribute, so every dollar donated will help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
