Ivan’s Battle Against Cancer

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

We write to you today with a heavy heart for your support. Ivan Dominguez needs our support, as he and our family are facing an overwhelming financial course as we fight for his life.

Ivan has always been a vibrant and compassionate individual with a mamba mentality. On April 29th, while driving, Ivan sensed that something felt off... while fortunate to have the ability to pull over, he had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital for what he thought would be a quick check-in. After some tests, the doctors found he had some tissue in his brain that was causing swelling and triggered the seizure. Unfortunately, those tissues show that an aggressive cancer has unexpectedly barged into his life, challenging his dreams of a long and happy future. Our family finds ourselves navigating the challenging path of treatment options, medical bills, and the costs of battling this disease.

The news has left us devastated, but we refuse to lose hope! Those of you who know Ivan know he is a fighter, and when the odds are stacked against him, that makes him even more determined to prove them wrong. That’s the mamba mentality he has and needs now, and we are determined to fight alongside him to give him the best chance of a positive outcome.

Over the past few months, Ivan has shown tremendous resilience, as this journey started on April 29th and his first surgery on May 6th. He has and continues to have MRIs and other tests to determine the severity of the cancer. Unfortunately, part of the tumor cannot be removed without causing motor skill immobility, so there needs to be an alternative for treatment. He’s also had complications of the scar being infected and needing another surgery, which required the removal of a part of his skull on June 30th. His subsequent surgery is in August, with the plan to go through the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery treatment plan once he’s able. As you can imagine, this all comes with a hefty price, a price that we are still uncertain of the final amount. But, his bravery is the motivation for us all.

We have created this GoFundMe campaign to rally around Ivan to ensure he receives the best possible care without worrying about medical bills.
