BLM Film Documentary - Free Nation Productions

Free Nation Productions was founded during the mass protests against police brutality in the summer of 2020. We hope to continue shining a much needed spotlight on the human rights issues of this country. Our first project is a documentary film highlighting the events that were ignored by mainstream media and will be completed in early 2021.
This film will include firsthand footage from protests, specifically those in Atlanta, Georgia. It will unearth stories from those who were (and still are) heavily involved in the 2020 BLM movement, allowing them to share their story and real life experiences as advocates. Our mission is to educate viewers about being culturally responsive members of their community by providing a unique perspective into this historical time of change.
We need your help to make our project come to life. While we have numerous generous volunteers involved in our production team, creating a film does have some costs. We need funds in order to secure the necessary technology and equipment. These include purchasing a Zoom account, a hard drive for storing footage, renting the appropriate video and audio equipment, and enrollment in production insurance. In addition are miscellaneous costs involved in maintaining a quality end product; these primarily includes editing program and software costs, interview fees, purchasing protective gear for crew, travel and accommodations, and advertisement costs. Ideally, we want to have our budget fulfilled by the beginning of October.
