As all of you know, I have been struggling with addiction for a long time now. My addiction to alcohol has progressed over the years to a critical and dire situation. In the past ten years I have gone from having a very successful business to slowly but surely loosing everything I have worked my entire life for. Alcoholism is truly a progressive illness.
In my fellowship it is said, "When at the end of the road we find that we can no longer function as a human being, What is there left to do? There seems to be this alternative: either go on as best we can to the bitter ends—jails, institutions or death—or find a new way to live."
The past 10 months have been an all time low point in my life and I have decided I want my life back. I want A life, I want a new way to LIVE. I have decided to commit myself to a year long residential treatment program called "Entirely Ready." I will be living with an amazing group of women with some great recovery, and I am Entirely Ready to do whatever it takes to change my life.
So what is my go fund me? In
making this decision I had to completely let go of every aspect of the life I was living, including my job. I WILL get a job while in treatment. and I will be doing a lot of service work. I will also be in school full time working on an art degree. My family and I were able to come up with the $600 for admission to the program. After that month I pay $150 a week ($600 a month). I am asking for funding to help me with this until I can get established in a new job. The first month in the program is a very structured situation and I will be able to look for work after that month. Any donations will go directly and solely to this weekly/monthly payment for my treatment. It can be made to this go fund me page or directly to Entirely Ready on my behalf. Please do not feel obligated, at this point I have just had to let go and let God. For the first time I am truly optimistic about my recover and I am excited to see how different my life can be without alcohol.
