KEEP SAVED ME ALIVE!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We're honored to be able to say we've saved over 11,000 lives and counting since the start of our operations. But right now we're in trouble and WE NEED YOUR HELP! Costs of operations have increased and we won't be able to sustain them without a major increase to our funding. We've expanded capacity and are taking in more dogs than ever and our funds are DEPLETED.
As a nonprofit working with such a large number of animals we have certain risks that come along with our day to day. We know that rescue animals have an unknown history and THAT'S WHY WE LOVE THEM! But not everyone does - we get that. All that's to say - WE NEED TO GET NEW INSURANCE. And it's going to cost us at least $10,000. We simply don't have that amount of money. We're hoping that's where YOU come in. It's a lot of money, we know! But we need it to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy. This is a VITAL part of our operation and we can't SAVE LIVES without it. Literally we can not operate without insurance. And if we can't pay for it, we will get shut down.
This week alone we're planning to bring in 20+ dogs in need of forever homes. Where will those dogs go if we don't exist anymore? WE'RE DESPERATE. These dogs will stay in their high-kill shelters in the south where they will be KILLED. The lives we save are spared sometimes by MINUTES before the doctors arrive with their drugs and their needles for euthanasia. We are the only option for so many dogs out there!
And right now especially it's so important that we stay open and operational. The rescue world has never been so overwhelmed by the number of dogs in the system. Post-pandemic times have inundated EVERY rescue, EVERY shelter, EVERY foster home with more dogs than there is space. We are all asking for help. No - BEGGING for help. Times are dark and they are sad. The numbers of euthanasia just for space in all the kill shelters right now would shock you. If you saw the pictures and knew the names (for the ones who get to have names), they would haunt you. We are all losing sleep, working 12+ hour days, volunteering on our days off, doing whatever we can to keep dogs alive. And still it's not enough.
Saved Me alone has 60-70 dogs in our care at any given time. We adopt out at least 50 dogs per month. Can you imagine what the numbers would look like if we got shut down and those dogs had nowhere else to go? PLEASE HELP US!
