Prague House Supported Care Home Improvement Works
Donation protected
Prague House is a Supported Care Home which provides "a place to call home" for older people with low to medium care needs.
Prague House was established by the Franciscan Nuns in 1972.
In 2016, a Board of Directors were formed with a full time manager, clinical oversight and a fully trained care team.
This is a 22 bed care facility which offers affordable support to older people who require respite, convalescence and long term care.
We provide accommodation, meals, snacks, laundry services and a fun activities programme 7 days a week at a nominal fee.
The residents who live in Prague House do so in line with their own will and preference with access to a beautiful village, local shops, pubs and a cafe.
There is also a bus available to and from Kilkenny city twice daily.
While are a 22 bed care facility, currently our upstairs is closed due essential works needed to bring the building into current fire regulations.
This reduces our capacity in offering beds to older people from 22-15. The impact of this can be felt on the acute settings and higher dependency units in the local areas.
The cost of these works are approximately 150,000 to bring the building into satisfactory regulations. The aim of this go fund me page is to raise truly needed funding to complete the required works and reopen the 8 bed capacity upstairs.
We respectfully ask if you could please make a contribution big or small to help us on our way to providing the supports needed for older people.
