Pray for Glenn Matteson

Hello, My name is Melissa, I am Glenn's daughter. My mom and I switch driving to Madison every day to see my dad, Glenn. Because of Covid rules, its one person per 24 hours for visitors at the hospital. Thank you everyone for your prayers!

Glenn has been on a long slow journey in the hospital since the middle of July. Medically things haven't always gone the way we had hoped or planned but we will continue to pray for him to have strength and for the Drs to be guided in the direction God sees fit.

For anyone who doesn't know I will start from the beginning, Glenn had pain and thought it was another blockage that he would commonly get. He called the ambulance, they sent him to Monroe. Monroe hospital then sent him to St Mary's in Madison. He had gall stones that were blocking the duct to his pancreas. Drs went in and tried to remove/dislodge the stones. The stones at moved themselves....and this was the start of his pancreatitis. He had acute pancreatitis which is were the pancreas is infected and inflamed. This infection then affected the rest of his organs near his pancreas.

He then received drain tubes for his pancreas and gall bladder hoping this would help drain the infection, which he still has. The middle of August they had to rush him into surgery because an artery near his stomach was leaking blood into his abdomen. They cauterized the artery which stopped the internal bleeding. Because a person can only have a ventilator with a tube down their throat for 14 days, he received a trach to help him breath. He also has to do dialysis 3 times a week because his kidneys are not doing the best.

This pancreatitis infection has caused many issues for him and his abdomen area. He is still continuing to stay strong and fight. Please pray for him. I will update when I can. Sorry. Thank you, Melissa (Matteson) Fairbanks
