Prayers and Financial Support For Our Dad
Donation protected
My name is Cierra and I am fundraising for my Dad, who is currently in the hospital fighting covid. I will not write covid in all caps, as it does not deserve that honor. My parents live 3 states away from me, about 9 hours drive.
My Mom (Tamara) and my Dad (Albert) were married 20 years and were each other's light, so in love still. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful parents.
It is with a hurting and heavy heart that I am creating this "go fund me" for my Dad. The week of August 20th My Dad started symptoms and with in a few days Mom did as well.
After testing positive and sent home with instructions to rest and drink plenty of fluids and if they had any breathing trouble to go to the hospital. It went downhill after that. Dad had his oxygen drop and had to be hospitalized on August 20th. Dad called me and asked me to come be with Mom because he was worried about her home alone and sick.
I tried to get a flight and realized I could drive faster than waiting on a flight. So I left right away on August 20th. When I arrived, Mom was so weak and extremely tired among other cruel covid symptoms. I cared for her the next few days. Encouraging her to drink and try to eat something and keep and eye on her oxygen saturation.
On August 24th I had to have an ambulance come get Mom because her saturation dropped too low. My Dad was in a different hospital awaiting treatment for 3 1/2 days before a doctor was assigned to him. My Mom was treated much more timely at the other hospital.
Trying to get updates from both hospital on both of my parents was daunting, to say the least. There were small moments of hope until Mom declined and had to be placed on a ventilator, as Dad was having a glimmer of improvement.
My sweet Mom declined so rapidly on the ventilator and slipped into a coma. On September 7th she lost her courageous battle with covid. Now in addition to fighting his battle with covid, my Dad had to hear that Mom passed away.
Dad has had some bearable days and then many setbacks. He was in ICU then moved to a regular room and then back to ICU. He is currently in ICU for more round the clock care for his breathing.
Life has been on hold for nearly a month. Praying that he beats this and comes home. When he does, he will need help to get back on his feet and navigate post covid financial burdens and grief. Also, funeral expense burdens on top.
If you are able to bless him financially, it will be so graciously appreciated. If not financially, then all the strongest prayers will be welcomed.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my parents story and for helping.
Be blessed!
