Prayers and Support for Baby Ellison

Donation protected
5/29/2024 update: She had her eyes checked and everything looks good for her vision. She was able to take a couple bites of sweet potato and some formula for speech therapy today. She got some tummy time on her mat in today. She does still have her ng tube for her feedings. They still plan to go to hospital in Atlanta for in patient rehab but they have to wait until her blood clot is resolved (which could take a couple weeks). She is such a fighter - thank God for positive steps forward. Continue to the pray for Ellison and her family along this road to recovery.

5/27/2024 update: Ellison was finally able to get some sleep. She had sessions with PT, OT, and speech therapy. Speech is working on teaching her to swallow and suck again with the end goal of getting her feeding tube out one day. They will be looking at doing inpatient rehab for Ellison. Keep the prayers coming as they do have a long road ahead!

5/26/2024 holiday weekend update: On Saturday Ellison got her vent out and her C collar off. Results came back from the MRI - they weren't the outcome they were hoping for so sweet Ellison will have an uphill battle to fight. On Sunday Ellison got her EEG out (no seizure activity in 48 hours). She is having a lot neuro-storming with fevers, shakes, increased BP, heart rate, and unable to sleep in 48 hours. She was able to get her central line out. She does has a blood clot in her left leg from the central line, but which her brain injury they can't give her anticoagulants so they are monitoring and will do another ultrasound on it. Pt and OT are working with her. Mom, Dad, and Gigi got to hold her for the first time since the accident.

5/22/2024 update: Ellison had a good night but is getting agitated with everything plugged up. The nurse said neurology wants to talk about her possibly having neurostorming - not sure if she is having that but they want to check off all the boxes. She did have a seizure episode, so they upped her phenobarbital to 1mg again and are trying to figure out a happy medium with the medicine. The nurse said Ellison opened her eyes and was able to follow her them last night to see what she was doing. They got her urine output under control and took her off vasopressin for the night but that is still a wait and see thing. Overall, she had a good night, it is still trying to figure out Ellison and what she wants.

5/20/2024 update: Ellison's CT scan showed that the swelling has gone down and there are no new injuries to the brain. The neurosurgery team is looking at when to take the EVD drain out. She had a good night and is moving a lot more. They have continued to decrease her phenobarbital (seizure medicine).

5/17/2024 update: It was good and calm night for Ellison. No seizures overnight and working to balance her fluid and sodium levels today. Neurosurgery came in this morning and is very happy with her progress. Ellison is a fighter - keep the prayers and support coming!

5/16/2024 update: Ellison had a good night. They went up on the seizure medicine because she is having small seizures that they can't see but the EEG can. They found where the wound on her head is leaking some so they are going to redress it and possibly put in an additional stitch. Her icp has stayed under 10 all night. She needs to have a BM today because she didn't have one last night but other than that she is doing good. Her fluid input has been good all night. The only medication she is on is phenobarbital for seizures and sedation.

5/15/2024 update: Ellison had her first seizure last night but wasn't a full seizure which is positive. Today she is having max brain swelling so they are planning on it being a rough day. Her intracranial pressure is staying under 10 which the neurosurgeon that did the surgery was happy with. She is continuing to fight the vent but has calmed some on it. They were able to see her eyes this morning and both are reactive to light which is great! Please continue to lift Denny, Hylin, Ellison, and family up in prayer and continue to support them in this long road ahead.

"For with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37

5/14/2024 update: Ellison is fighting the vent and breathing on her own so it will be a balancing act today because they don't want to sedate her but also don't want her irritated. She is having good improvement on the swelling. They have also started a feeding tube for formula. Our girl is so strong - keep the prayers and support coming!

Hi my name is Lauren Lukasik and I am organizing this fundraiser for my very good friends Denny and Hylin White and their sweet baby Ellison to help ease the financial stress of the situation.

Baby Ellison was involved in an accident at home on Saturday May 11th and suffered a traumatic brain injury. She is in critical care at Vanderbilt and has a long road to recovery. The family needs all the prayers and support they can get. If you aren’t able to donate please lift up baby Ellison and her family in prayer.
