Prayers and Support for Baby Stevie
On July 5, Janelle and Kurt gave birth to their beautiful daughter Stevie Monroe. She was full of spunk as she came flying into this world 3 weeks early! On August 7, they noticed that Stevie wasn't as feisty as her usual and was working harder to breathe. They took her to the Children's Emergency in Winnipeg where they performed tests and found out her heart was enlarged (dilated cardiomyopathy). The next day she was transferred upstairs to the Winnipeg Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where Stevie stayed for one week while they performed more tests regarding her heart. The doctors/cardiologists felt it was for the best they transfer Stevie to the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in Edmonton where they will continue to do testing and evaluate Stevie for a potential heart transplant.
Janelle and Kurt's world has been flipped upside down as they try and accept this new reality. The doctors have not given them a time on the length of stay in Edmonton, however, it could be months.
Janelle and Kurt have appreciated all the support and prayers you have already given them. However, with both of them unable to work while in Edmonton, any financial contribution will be appreciated as they still have expenses back in Winnipeg. We hope we can alleviate some of the financial burdens that Janelle and Kurt may have.
Ultimately, your continued prayers are greatly appreciated as Janelle and Kurt continue to rely on their strong faith in God as they walk through this journey with Stevie.
