Prayers and Support for Hannah's Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Lindsey Ammend. I am the aunt of an extraordinary girl named Hannah! Hannah is 24 years old and was home to visit her family for the weekend. Sunday, she was headed back to Vicksburg, MS, where she currently lives, and she was involved in a serious car accident. Currently, Hannah is in the ICU at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She suffered brain trauma along with other internal injuries.
Hannah is an amazing girl who, first and foremost, needs our prayers. Things to specifically pray for would be Hannah's body to keep fighting and healing, the family to have peace and strength during this difficult time, and the doctor's hands and decisions in taking care of our sweet girl.
While the most imperative thing I can ask you to do is pray or send positive thoughts this sweet girl's way, I also wanted to create this page to provide a way to assist in other ways. Many want to lend a helping hand however they can. Currently, Will and Beth (Hannah's parents) are staying away from home in Jackson to be by her side in the hospital. They have been told it may be weeks to months until she can return home. Many things are unknown as we wait to see what Hannah responds to and how her body heals. During this time, they are finding housing, whether a hotel or a rental. They are unsure what insurance will cover and what will be out of pocket. (They have been told that the outcome could be full recovery, partial recovery, or not much.....this my friends, is why the most important thing is to pray. We, however, know this hard-headed, stubborn, fierce, loving soul will push through. She is.... a fighter.) Whatever her recovery status, there will be an extended stay in Jackson until being considered to return to Memphis. Her parents are not going to leave her side. There will more than likely be hospitalization costs, intensive rehabilitation services, specialized therapies like occupational or speech therapy, medication costs, assistive technology, home modifications, caregiver expenses, lost wages due to inability to work, and ongoing medical appointments with specialists like neurologists and neuropsychologists.
Anything is greatly appreciated. My prayer is for Hannah to heal and make the world a better place and for her family and herself to have peace, hope, and faith without worrying about how to navigate this financial burden that may come with it.
"God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day." -Psalms 46:5
