Prayers and Support for Liam's Recovery

Hi, I’m Ashley. Joel and Brandi’s sister in law, and auntie to sweet Liam.

Joel and Brandi took Liam into the emergency room yesterday and after the doctors ran some tests and scans it was determined that Liam has significant bleeding on his brain and was diagnosed with AML - acute myeloid leukemia. Liam is a fighter but he is in bad shape right now, the bleeding has caused swelling on his brain and the doctors have placed him into a medically induced coma to protect him along with being on life support. The prognosis hasn’t been reassuring, he’s in a fight for his life right now. They have started him on a broad spectrum chemo to start fighting off the cancer, and once he’s well enough they will start chemo treatments that are for his specific leukemia.

First, they need our prayers right now. Please pray that Liam’s strong enough to get past this large hurdle they’ve encountered. Pray when they come to mind, or send positive thoughts their way. Your thoughts and prayers are so needed and invaluable at this time.

Secondly, if you feel called to, please donate. For those of you that don’t know, Brandi and Joel are expecting their 4th baby in about two weeks and with this dismal news about Liam they have a long road ahead of them. Joel has had to take leave from work, but most likely Brandi and Joel will need extra monetary support right now since not only are they welcoming a new baby soon but we aren’t sure how long Liam will need to be in the hospital. The cost of gas to go to and from the hospital, and food while staying there is unexpected. We’re also unsure about medical costs at this time, but I do know that giving them a cushion of support so they won’t have any worry aside from caring for themselves and their babies would be a loving way to care for them during this time.
