Prayers and Support for the Chilson Family

We are seeking to help the Chilson Family. Many of you know that this amazing Christian family has had some heavy medical burdens over the last year. Last fall, their oldest daughter underwent surgery to repair her heart valve. By the grace of God, the surgery was 100% successful and each of her post operative appointments have shown that she now was a normal, healthy heart and she has no medical restrictions.
Over the last few months, Jason has been in a battle to save his eyesight. He has a rare form of macular degeneration which could result in the total loss of his eyesight. On October 3, he underwent a laser procedure on both eyes. The right eye (the worse of the two) had two new tears, one being on the very back of the eye. The laser was used in an attempt to cauterize the tears but the damage to the right eye is permanent and will not improve even with treatment. The left eye had multiple tears and fluid build-up; this eye was also cauterized and doctors hope that this will allow the fluid to dissipate and that the vision could improve but there is no way to know if this will be successful or if the vision will continue to be lost as it was in the right eye.
His next appointment is in November and another round of lasers will be scheduled at that time. There will be more procedures like this every few months. Although the Chilsons have medical insurance, there are still significant medical bills that were not covered from the heart surgery last year and most of the eye procedure expenses are not covered.
If you have had the privilege of knowing the Chilsons, either through work, school, or church, you know that they are the most caring, giving and big-hearted family you could meet. They never think of themselves, only how they can help and bless others. Jason is the backbone of both his and Ashley’s families, being the rock in so many difficult seasons. They never ask for anything in return and are the epitome of being the hands and feet of Christ in both day-to-day life and in challenging situations.
We are first asking for your prayers, that by the grace of God, Jason’s eyesight will be saved. Secondly, should the Lord call you to do so, please consider a financial contribution to help cover the enormous burden left by these medical bills. Thank you, in advance, to everyone for your help and please keep this family in your prayers.
