Prayers and Support for the Perkins Family

Family, Friends, and to the general GoFundMe Contributors – This is a plea for help:
I come to you in a state of profound sadness and a soul crying in anguish to ask for prayers (first and foremost) and financial donations to help me raise money to cover expenses related to my father’s unexpected passing.
On July 4, 2024, while celebrating Independence Day at a beach in Mexico, my father was swept away into the ocean by a rip tide. Although it seemed like an eternity, some 45 minutes later local fishermen found him floating by a steep, rocky ledge, and he was brought to shore for lifesaving efforts. CPR was immediately administered, but he succumbed to the drowning and injuries right there before my very own eyes.
My father, Robert Perkins, leaves behind his beloved wife and six children. He was an incredible man and will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his gentle nature, good sense of humor, and his immeasurable kindness and compassion for others.
Just two days into this tragedy, we are faced with surmounting expenses related to my father’s passing. We have incurred high costs from two funeral homes in Mexico (because of efforts to expedite his return to the United States) and now a third one in Benson, Arizona for funeral and service needs.
The picture looks even grimmer when thinking about what’s to come in the following weeks and months. Without my father’s income, it will be extremely difficult to keep pace with our financial obligations, such as food, rent, utilities, and any daily essentials.
While we find solace, knowing that my father has been embraced by our Lord, my family is deeply grieving. As the eldest daughter, I feel a sense of duty to help my family. This is why I chose to organize a fund-raising campaign that would allow us to cover not only funeral home costs, but also to raise enough money to help sustain us financially while we navigate through these difficult times.
