Mighty Mouse Kinslee Larue
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Madelyn. My baby cousin, Kinslee Larue, has a big battle ahead of her. She is only 7 weeks old and has a tumor at the base of her brain. Our family is asking for prayers for Kinslee. I wanted to do something for my family so I am reaching out on behalf of Kinslee and her family (Mom: Jessica, dad: Josh, brother: Brent, sister: Bralynn, and twin sister: Paislee) for help to cover medical and cost of living expenses since Jessica will be battling this with Kinslee, and unable to work.
Jessica has started a Facebook page for Kinslee and is providing daily updates. Please follow her page: Prayers for Kinslee Larue.
This is Jessica's first post that explains what led up to learning about this nightmare!
So for those of you who don't know... My youngest twin has been having some minor issues since she was born. Friday, she started showing signs of pain all the time. Come Sunday she still wasn't feeling well so I called the doctor and through the process of elimination we ruled out constipation and infections. Tuesday we were going to be admitted to blessing in Quincy, so they could run more tests to figure out what was wrong with my baby. One of the first things they did was to do an ultrasound on her brain. They immediatly saw excess fluid. (Normal range was ten and hers was measuring 19) They instantly said that she would need a MRi to see exactly what was causing the fluid buildup. They flew her down to St. Louis last night to do the testing because they don't do infant MRI's in Quincy. So she went in this morning for her MRI. The neurosurgeon came in this afternoon with the results from the scan. It's definitely not what we were expecting. My poor baby has a two-inch tumor at the base of her brain that is blocking the spinal fluid and causing the excess fluid on the brain. He is 90 percent sure that it is cancer. Right now the main concern is the fluid on the brain. Heard from the second MRI. He said it's a much clearer image. He can tell now exactly where the tumor is on the brain. I believe he said it is not attached to the spinal cord but is putting pressure on it. He said this is one of the most common surgeries he does on the little ones. So that is a relief. It's going to be between 2-3 hours before she will be back in the room. She left not too long ago to get the shunt put in. They are estimating the biopsy to be done Tuesday. But that's not set in stone yet. I hate seeing my baby like this. She is only 7 weeks old. We need all the prayers we can get. My little mighty mouse is so strong, and I'm trying to stay stong for her.
